A Woman’s Idea of Permanent Contraception
Essure is a safe, simple and minimally invasive procedure for permanent contraception. It is performed in our office without and IV and without anesthesia. Mild pain medication and local anesthesia are used, resulting in very minimal discomfort. Essure works by stimulating your body’s own tissues to grow in and around tiny, soft implants that are placed inside the fallopian tubes. It uses no hormones or drugs and leaves nothing in the uterus that might limit future gynecological procedures.
